Mehdi Al-Alaq, advisor to the United Nations Population Fund, announced today, Wednesday, the scheduled date for completing the detailed data for the population census, while setting a date for announcing the final results of the census.
Al-Alaq told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): that "The preliminary results of the general population and housing census were announced 48 hours after the end of the census," indicating that "data collection has not been completed yet."
He added that "December 14 is the scheduled date for completing the detailed data for individuals and families," noting that "after this stage, the detailed coding processes for professions and activities will begin; because some fields cannot be sent directly and require some type of coding, especially those related to profession and activity."
"What remains for the enumerators is only three days to complete the rest of the work," noting that "a number of governorates have completed the second phase completely by 100 percent." Al-Alaq said.
He expected that the final results of the census would be announced in mid-February, noting that "the census plan includes all regions, including nomadic Bedouins, and therefore the data has been completed almost completely."
He pointed out that "enhancing the development path and determining investment allocations is primarily linked to the population ratio in each governorate and the percentage of deprivation," noting that "the population ratio indicator will depend largely on the percentages that the general population census will show in its final results."
