The Security Media Cell-SMC announced on Wednesday the execution of an airstrike targeting a terrorist unit in Wadi Al-Khasa within the Kirkuk region.
In a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), SMC stated, "Coinciding with our nation’s celebrations of the anniversary of the Great Victory Day, military intelligence personnel and the targeting cell of the Joint Operations Command chose to commemorate this occasion on the battlefield. They marked the occasion by tracking the movements of a terrorist unit in Wadi Al-Khasa, in the Rashad area under the Kirkuk Operations Command sector."
The statement further noted, "Iraq's valiant air force, operating F-16 fighter jets, joined the celebration from the skies, reducing the terrorist unit’s hideout to rubble."
According to available intelligence, the strike successfully destroyed weapons, ammunition, and logistical supplies belonging to the targeted unit.
