600 New Schools Inaugurated for the 2024 School Year

    The Iraqi Ministry of Education announced  on Sunday, the opening of 600 new schools in conjunction with the commencement of the new school year, in a significant move aimed at enhancing the educational infrastructure across the country.
     
    Kareem Al-Sayed, the ministry's spokesperson, stated in an interview with the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that this initiative is part of the ongoing efforts to adequately prepare for the academic year, with an expectation that the total number of new schools will reach 1,000 by the end of the year.
     
    Al-Sayed emphasized the notable improvements in the ministry's preparations this year compared to previous years. He highlighted that the ministry began printing and preparing educational materials well in advance, which helped avoid the challenges faced in prior years.
     
    He also mentioned that the curriculum textbooks have been distributed to the general directorates and subsequently to the schools, ensuring that school stores are stocked with ready-to-distribute materials for students.
     
    The new academic year has commenced today throughout Iraq, involving millions of students, reflecting the ministry's commitment to providing a conducive learning environment that contributes to the development of education in the country.
