Sadly, Hashem Al-Shabli, former Minister of Justice, has passed away

Minister of Justice Khaled Shawani offered his condolences today, Saturday, on the passing of former Minister of Justice Hashem Al-Shabli.

In his condolences, Shawani said - followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "With hearts filled with sorrow, the Ministry of Justice mourns the passing of its former Minister Hashem Al-Shabli."

He added, "The deceased was an exemplary role model in the field of law and politics and a national legal figure who served the country with all sincerity during his tenure as Minister of Justice between 2003/2004 and in 2006. The deceased made significant contributions to rebuilding the justice system in exceptional circumstances, and was one of the strong voices in defending human rights and establishing the principles of justice."

He continued, "Hashem Al-Shabli embodied the spirit of integrity and professionalism in everything he did, and had a profound impact on everyone who dealt with him."

He concluded by saying: "On behalf of myself and all members of the Ministry of Justice, I extend my deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased."
