Iraq wins (14) medals Muay Thai World Championship

Our youth Muay Thai team achieved tenth place in the World Championship that concluded today, Thursday, in the Thai capital, Bangkok, by winning (14) medals, including four gold medals, two silver medals, and eight bronze medals, thus achieving tenth place out of 92 countries. 

The head of the Iraqi Central Muay Thai Federation, Mustafa Jabbar Alak, said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The player Hussein Salman won the gold medal after defeating his Australian competitor, and the two brothers Youssef Fawzi and Ahmed Fawzi won the gold medal in the My Muay event, while Mahdi Adi and Mohammed Adi won the gold medal in the My Muay event."

Alak added: "The promising players Reda Mohammed and Ali Al-Sudani were able to win gold in the My Muay event, in addition to Mustafa Sarmed, who won the silver medal in the Waikru event, while his colleague Mustafa Al-Sudani won the silver medal in the fighting event."

The head of the federation indicated that "the Iraqi youth team won eight bronze medals, which were won by Mohammed Al-Silawi and Mahdi Abbas in the My Muay doubles event, Abdullah Osama, Rasool Khaled, Ali Al-Sudani, Abdullah Shawqi and Mustafa Osama in the fighting event, and Reda Mohammed in the Waikru competitions."

Alak explained that "the positive results achieved in the World Championship competitions have had a great impact on the players of the game," noting that "the champion players presented more than wonderful levels, and deserved the excellence medals despite the fierce competition between the players of the other teams participating in the World Youth Championship."
