Great results achieved by our jumpers in the Arab Championship

    The players of our national weightlifting teams in the advanced and youth categories achieved outstanding results by participating in the Arab Championship, which concluded its competitions yesterday, Friday, in the Syrian capital, Damascus, and crowned it with winning (37) gold medals and (26) silver medals.

    Federation member Muhammad Abdel Moneim said, in a statement to (Al-Sabah) newspaper, followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), today, Saturday: "Our quartets gave an outstanding performance throughout the life of the championship and were able to achieve many colorful medals.".

    He added, "The championship resulted in each of the weightlifter, Ali Ahmed Muhammad Ali, winning (3) gold medals in the weight of (50) kg, while his colleague Saif Hassan Ali won (6) gold medals and (3) silver medals in the weight of (55) kg.".

    Abdel Moneim indicated that "the weightlifter, Muhammad Abbas Mazloum, won (6) gold medals in the weight of (61) kg, and in the weight of (67) kg, Zafar Sajjad Abbas Yassin won two medals, one gold and the other silver, and Ibrahim Muhammad Naji, weighing (67) kg, won (3) gold medals. And (3) silver medals, while the youngest player in the tournament (16) years old, Hassan Abbas Fadel, managed to win (3) gold medals, and Mustafa Anwar won (73) kg with (3) gold medals.

    He explained that "weightlifter Muhammad Ali Wahhab won (3) silver medals in the weight of (73) kg, and in the weight of (81) kg, Muhammad Qaddouri won (3) silver medals, and Kamil Ziyad won two silver medals, and in the weight of (89) kg he scored Hafez Alaa (3) gold and (3) silver medals, and in the weight of (96) kg, Ali Hazem won (3) gold medals and (3) silver medals, and Haider Hassan Ali Askar won (3) gold medals.
    He concluded, "The weightlifter, Muhammad Baqir Abdul Karim, won two silver medals in the weight of (102) kg, and Abdul Hussein Muhammad won (3) gold medals, and in the weight of (109) kg, Abdullah Muhammad Hassan won two gold medals and (4) silver medals."
