Culture Minister Unveils New Areas Nominated for World Heritage list

    The nomination of new locations for the World Heritage List was announced on Thursday by Ahmed Fakak al-Badrani, Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities.


    "The number of archaeological sites that have been uncovered during the current year is very many," Al-Badrani told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), adding that "there are about 40 excavation missions currently operating."


    "Assyrian Nineveh and other areas are among the archaeological sites we have nominated to be added to the world heritage," he stated, emphasizing that "work is continuing to restore the destroyed monuments in Mosul city  ."
