Al-Mandalawi reiterates the full backing of Parliament for higher education

Acting Speaker of the Parliament Mohsen Al-Mandalawi reiterated on Monday the Parliament’ s full support for the higher education sector.  

Al-Mandalawi said in a statement obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "With the start of the new academic year in universities, we congratulate our students and educational staff, and wish them an academic year full of excellence, success and scientific achievements in the service of our country and our dear people."  

According to the statement, Al-Mandalawi called on "the Ministry of Higher Education to redouble efforts to provide a safe and sober educational environment worthy of our students, the name and history of Iraq, which is full of great scientific achievements, and the relentless pursuit of competing with international universities in terms of educational level and the development of education mechanisms."

The Acting Speaker of the Parliament reiterated "the full support of the Parliament for the higher education sector to ensure the sobriety of the educational institution and the efficiency of its students," stressing "the need for integration of visions, programs and proposals between the ministry and the Parliamentary Higher Education Committee in a way that contributes to the advancement of the educational reality as an essential source of the developed state and its joints."
