The Iraqi national team won, today, Saturday, a gold medal and a bronze medal in the World Football Tennis Championship.
The head of the Iraqi Football Tennis Federation, Safaa Sahib, said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The Iraqi national team won the gold medal for the quadruple event in football tennis (Sepak Takraw) after winning the final match against the Polish national team with two sets to one in the World Championship in the game, which concluded its activities today in the city of Korat in Thailand with the participation of 30 teams from all continents of the world," indicating that "the Iraqi national team outperformed the teams of Argentina, Italy and East Timor in the preliminary rounds to win in the final against Poland.".
Sahib added that "the Iraqi national team also managed to win the bronze medal for the triple event (Sepak Takraw) after defeating the Argentine national team with two sets to nothing.".
He stressed that "the Iraqi national team presented remarkable levels through which it attracted the attention and respect of followers by achieving two medals in the championship in which the best teams in the world participated.".
