A drug dealer was sentenced to 15 years in prison by Salah al-Din Criminal Court on Thursday for the crime of trafficking in narcotics.
A statement from the Supreme Judicial Council that the Iraqi News Agency (INA) obtained states that "a drug dealer was sentenced to 15 years in prison by the Salah al-Din Criminal Court for the crime of trafficking in narcotic substances."
"The prisoner was discovered to be in possession of ten grams of methyl amphetamine along with a number of narcotic pills," he continued.
He stated that "the judgement was rendered in compliance with the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law No. 50 of 2017's Article 28 / First."
