Baghdad Governor Abdul Muttalib Al-Alawi stressed, today, Wednesday, the need to address the phenomenon of school dropouts.
A statement by the governorate received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) said: that "Baghdad Governor Abdul Muttalib Al-Alawi confirmed his readiness to support the work of the Higher Committee for the Development of Education affiliated with the UNICEF organization to make its work in Baghdad a success."
"The governor discussed with the UNICEF organization the plans of the Higher Committee for Learning and Education designated to develop the educational system in Baghdad Governorate, praising this important aspect of the committee's work, which focuses on developing the educational process in Iraq and achieving social development."
The governor stressed according to the statement "the importance of education guaranteed by the Iraqi constitution," noting that "developing curricula and the educational system is one of the components of the government program that aims to address gaps and problems."
Al-Alawi stressed "the need to address the phenomenon of school dropouts with the participation of the Ministries of Education and work with UNICEF in this regard."
