The British newspaper, The Sun, revealed that Arsenal is preparing to conclude a sensational deal at the last minute of the summer transfer market.
The newspaper said that the "Gunners" club will move in the coming days before the transfer window closes to sign star Neco Williams from Spanish Athletic Bilbao.
It added, "Arsenal is targeting the 22-year-old player who shone remarkably with the Spanish national team at Euro 2024 and contributed to the team's crowning of the title."
It continued, "Nico Williams' amazing performances have attracted the interest of some of Europe's biggest clubs, with Barcelona, Chelsea and Liverpool among those monitoring the young player."
The British newspaper "The Independent" quoted Arsenal as saying that it is believed that Williams is the London club's first target before the final week of the transfer window.
It continued, "The winger has a release clause of 48 million pounds in his current contract, however, he is hesitant at this stage about leaving his club, as Williams was given the number 10 shirt from the club last week and is said to have ambitions to join Barcelona eventually."
