The office of Sayyid Ali Sistani (May his shadow endure) called on the world today, Saturday, to prevent the continuation of the Israeli occupation forces' plans to harm the Palestinian people.

A statement issued by the office and received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) said: "Once again, the Israeli occupation army has committed a major massacre in the steadfast Gaza Strip by targeting those sheltered in the (School of Al-Taba’een ) from the displaced and homeless, resulting in a large number of innocent civilians falling as martyrs and wounded. This horrifying crime adds to the series of crimes that have been ongoing for more than ten months."

The statement continued: "Recently, this has included treacherous assassination operations targeting prominent leaders in the resistance against the occupation, leading to the martyrdom of several of them. This has violated the sovereignty of several countries in the region, increasing the risk of major clashes that, if they occur, God forbid, could result in catastrophic consequences for the various countries and their peoples."

It added: "Words fall short in condemning these heinous crimes committed by individuals who have stripped themselves of all human values and noble principles. It is regrettable that they receive unlimited support from some major countries, preventing the application of international laws concerning perpetrators of crimes against humanity."

The office of Ali Sistani (May his shadow endure) once again called on the world "to confront this horrific savagery and to prevent the occupying forces from executing their plans to inflict further harm on the oppressed Palestinian people. We also urge the Islamic nations, in particular, to unite and collaborate to pressure for the end of the genocide in beloved Gaza and to provide more assistance to its honorable people."
