Five Judges of the Federal Court of Cassation Sworn in

    The Supreme Judicial Council announced on Monday that five judges were assigned and sworn in to be members of the federal court of cassation.

    A statement by the Supreme Judicial Council, copy of which was received by the INA, announces that ‘the new members were sworn in before the head of the Judicial Council, Judge Faiq Zaydan.’

    The statement goes on to add that ‘The republican edict no. 81, by reference to articles 47/3, and 48 of the Law of Judicial Regulation, declares the assignment of five judges in the federal court of cassation after being voted on and accepted by the Iraqi parliament in the light of the nomination by the Supreme Judicial Council. The judges are: Kadhim Abbas Habib al-Khafaji, Muhammad Qasim al-Janabi, Numan Karim Ahmad al-Bayati, Hasan Fouad Munim al-Khafaji and Muhammad Abd Ali Shadhan al-Ghanimi.’
