The province of Diyala received a security delegation on Monday, led by Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, the Army Chief of Staff.
"A security delegation headed by the Chief of Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, and the Deputy Commander of Joint Operations, Lieutenant General Qais Al-Muhammadawi, arrived today, in Diyala , accompanied by the Assistant Chief of Staff of the Army for Operations and the Commander of the Land Forces and Staff Bodies," read a statement from the Ministry of Defense that the Iraqi News Agency (INA) obtained.
The visit was made to "observe the ongoing preparations to secure the pilgrimage of the Arbaeen of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him," as well as to assess the security environment and the province's unit deployment and redistribution, according to the statement.
