The Iraqi Securities Commission announced Tuesday that shares traded in the first half of the year totaled 321 billion dinars. According to a statement from IFC Chairman Faisal Al-Haimus to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), 109 joint stock companies are listed, including those on regular, secondary trading platforms, and unlisted firms.
Al-Haimus noted, "Government bonds traded included two construction bond issues and three reconstruction bond issues." He highlighted, "The ISX-OTC platform now includes six companies, with three new additions in June 2024."
"In the first half of the year, shares of 87 companies were traded, totaling 281,150,586,973 shares, valued at 321,951,474,384 dinars," he explained.
"The ISX60 index closed June at 882.03, down 1.25% from 2023, while the ISX15 closed at 1005.49, up 0.5% from its base value."
"86,268 contracts were executed, indicating active trading in the Iraqi Securities Market," Al-Haimus concluded.
