The head of the Popular Mobilization Forces, Faleh al-Fayyad, confirmed today, Thursday, that the Popular Mobilization Forces was launched from a jihadist identity and is a multifaceted achievement built on the basis of sacrifices, while he praised the government position that affirmed that the Mobilization Forces are one of the state institutions and obey the orders of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani.
Al-Fayyad said during his speech at the special founding conference on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the founding of the Popular Mobilization Forces, which was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The Popular Mobilization Forces started from a jihadist identity and we will not accept changing it, regardless of the definitions,” indicating that “we were present in all the difficult confrontations when it retreated.” And we presented our best leaders as martyrs and our dearest possessions.”
He added, “Ten years since the founding of the Popular Mobilization Forces are the most honorable years, as he will remain stationed and a sacrificial servant of the Iraqi people,” noting that “the Popular Mobilization Forces started from a jihadist identity and we will not accept changing it.”
He continued, "The Popular Mobilization Forces are the wall of the nation. We hope to be present in every meeting and in every confrontation. We thank the Prime Minister, who took a defensive stance through the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in response to an accusation that the Mobilization Forces are outside the leadership system and not under the command of the Commander-in-Chief."
He pointed out that "the government's statement was clear, frank and defiant that this crowd is one of the state institutions that it is proud of and that it obeys the state's orders."
