The First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Hassan Karim al-Kaabi called for the activation of the Association Agreement and Cooperation with the European Union.
According to a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency Al-Kaabi and during the meeting of the joint meeting between the delegation of the Union and the Committee on Foreign Relations parliamentary said that Iraq has strong relations with many European countries and international organizations, especially the European Union and the Association Agreement and cooperation complemented to strengthen this relationship in various aspects Under the Convention.
Al-Kaabi called for the necessity of activating all the provisions of the agreement required by the current stage, noting that Iraq fought a fierce war against the supporter of the terrorist on behalf of the world and ended with a big victory against this organization, which threatens his extremist ideology the international community as a whole, pointing out that Iraq in front of other challenges, including the reconstruction of our cities and the destruction of peaceful coexistence between the components of society, which are not easy and require international support to achieve.Al-Kaabi called for implementing the terms of the partnership agreement on the ground as a comprehensive legal framework for cooperation in a wide range of political relations, combating terrorism, promoting human rights, trade and cooperation in energy and services.
The aim of the visit is to show our support for the new Iraqi government and to open up new horizons of cooperation and to reaffirm our commitment to supporting Iraq and supporting it in various fields, said David McElster, head of the European Union delegation.
