The Pentagon has released new details of its plan to set up a temporary floating pier in northern Gaza, where food aid is needed to stave off an impending famine.
Aid trucks are currently allowed past the southern border checkpoints at a rate of about 200 per day, about 40 percent of the pre-conflict traffic volume.

US Central Command stated on X that “Construction of the floating JLOTS pier in the Mediterranean is underway. The pier will support USAID and humanitarian partners to receive and deliver humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza”.
