Minister of Interior Emphasizes the Need to Strengthen Measures for Social Peace

    Minister of Interior Abdul Amir Al-Shammari underscored today, Tuesday, the importance of enhancing measures related to social peace.

    According to a statement from the ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "Minister of Interior Abdul Amir Al-Shammari received a tribal delegation comprising sheikhs and dignitaries from Maysan Province at the ministry’s headquarters."

    The statement added, "During the meeting, several topics were discussed, including the security situation in the province, rejection of harmful societal phenomena such as tribal conflicts (known as 'dakka'), random gunfire, and the need to confine weapons to the authority of the state."

    Al-Shammari emphasized, as per the statement, "the necessity of reinforcing measures to uphold social peace," while praising "the authentic Iraqi tribes for their significant role in combating terrorism and crime, as well as their support for the work of security agencies across various fields."

    The Minister also stressed "the importance of continuing fruitful cooperation between security personnel and citizens to contribute to strengthening security, stability, and national unity."
