Russia will launch the largest trading platform for “halal” products next May

The press office of Russia - Islamic World Kazan Forum announced the opening of a “Halal platform” for products for Muslims in the city of Kazan during the period from May 14 to 19 of the same month.
 
 “The Halal platform is the largest commercial platform for Muslims in the Russian Federation in the Kazan Halal International Trade Market, as it is planned to attract more than 40 thousand visitors and contain 4.5 thousand halal products from all over the world,” The office said in a statement.
 
The exhibition will be held - according to the statement - within the framework of the annual international economic forum “Russia - the Islamic World: Kazan Forum”, which brings together representatives of all countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
 
In recent years, the volume of trade exchange between Russia and the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation has increased, reaching in 2021 its volume of $113.3 billion, which is 43.2% more than in 2017.
 
“The halal market and mutual supplies of products conforming to Islamic standards open a new broad horizon,” Hussein Ibrahim Taha, Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, said in his speech to participants in the Kazan Forum 2023.
 
He continued, "The global halal market is growing at an amazing speed, and is now estimated at 2.6 trillion dollars. I hope that the work of the forum will contribute to the further development of the halal industry and trade in Russia. By 2028, the value of the halal market is expected to reach more than 11 trillion dollars" - The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation reported in May 2023.
 
According to the statement, holding the international exhibition of the best halal products within the framework of the Kazan Forum contributes to the development of industry and foreign trade of the Russian Federation in general at the exhibition, it is possible to purchase food, clothing, accessories, cosmetics and other consumer goods with a halal certificate, produced by leading manufacturing companies in the region the Islamic world, and in 2023, visitors were able to learn about products from Iran, Afghanistan, Senegal and Turkey.
