The outcomes of the Prime Minister's discussions in Washington were deemed highly satisfactory by the Parliamentary Finance Committee on Wednesday.

As stated in a statement obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Atwan al-Atwani, the head of the parliamentary finance committee, expressed his satisfaction with the outcomes of the talks held by the Iraqi delegation led by Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani while they were in Washington.

In the context of the shift in the two countries' relationship from the security and military to the domains of development, reconstruction, economy, and investment, Al-Atwani emphasized his "complete support for the positive understandings that resulted from the Al-Sudani meeting with the US president."

In a move that would help link Iraq to the global economy, Al-Atwani applauded "the US president's announcement of the commitment of the United States of America to support Iraq to reform and develop its financial and banking system and to allow licensed Iraqi banks to deal directly with accredited international correspondent banks."

It is the hope of Al-Atwani that "these talks will be a new start to achieve a real partnership between the two countries in various political, security, and economic fields in order to achieve prosperity, and stability for our country." He noted that "we are all confident and proud of the Iraqi negotiating delegation."
