Members of the Parliament affirmed that transferring the Strategic Framework Agreement from its security aspect and activating other provisions related to the economy, investment, education, energy, and other files are among the most significant pillars of PM Muhammed S. Al-Sudani's visit to Washington, confirming the Parliament's support for this direction.

"PM's visit will open the door to activating files in the Strategic Framework Agreement, not limited to the security aspect, with the most important aspect of investment in energy, minerals, and many industrial files," said the head of the Parliamentary Investment and Development Committee, Hassan Al-Khafaji, to the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

Meanwhile, MP Hussein Arab stated in his interview with INA that "the PM will address during the visit the Strategic Framework Agreement between Iraq and the United States, and he is keen that there will be an equal and balanced relationship between the two parties by activating ways of bilateral cooperation in investing in the agreement's files related to the economy, investment, energy, education, and others."

In turn, MP Ruqaiya Al-Nouri affirmed to INA that "the Prime Minister's visit to Washington is a historic visit, and Iraqi-US relations require shifting the alliance with Washington from the security and military aspects towards the Strategic Framework Agreement, which includes cooperation in the fields of energy, education, investment, agriculture, and other areas adopted by the Prime Minister."

"Exploring the horizon of the future relationship after the international coalition to combat the terrorist Daesh gangs is the best way to make the transition to a comprehensive partnership between Iraq and the United States, within the framework of the Strategic Framework Agreement between the two countries in political, economic, financial, cultural, educational, security, and other fields," she included.

Al-Nouri noted that "the government has succeeded greatly on the global and regional political levels, and the overall internal situation has witnessed significant progress through the visits of diplomatic missions, conferences, seminars, and communication in visits of friendly delegations and others. Iraq has a significant pivotal role globally and regionally, as Al-Sudani seeks to develop and consolidate this role in line with the country's supreme interests and serving the Iraqi people in general and the country's development in all fields," confirming "the Parliament's support for the Prime Minister's national directions and efforts in this regard."
