Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani stressed today, Saturday, the importance of loyalty in security work to the homeland and to all Iraqis without discrimination.
Prime Minister Al-Sudani attended a Ramadan Iftar Dinner this Saturday with cadets from the Police Academy, the Higher Institute for Security and Administrative Development, and the Women Training Institute.
Al-Sudani extended his best wishes for the holy month of Ramadan, praying for it to be a month of obedience and forgiveness, and for continued blessings of security and stability for Iraq and its people, celebrating their triumph over ISIS and the eradication of terrorism.
Prime Minister highlighted the current phase as a period of construction where police academy cadets and their colleagues in the security training institutions are the core and future leaders on the security front. The state is advancing in enforcing its sovereignty and moving towards policies and programs for building and reconstruction in all fields and sectors, with security being fundamental in enforcing the law.
Prime Minister emphasized that the government's program includes a commitment to transfer all security responsibilities to the Ministry of Interior. He expressed confidence in the ministry's personnel, believing they are well-equipped to undertake this crucial role. This shift is designed to allow the military to concentrate on building its capabilities through well-defined strategies and programs.
Al-Sudani underscored the critical importance of loyalty to the nation and equitable treatment of all Iraqis within the security sector, emphasizing the necessity of honoring all tribal, ethnic, and religious leaderships. He asserted the essentiality of upholding justice and integrity, particularly in the integration of students into the security sector, ensuring that the principles of fairness and incorruptibility are paramount both in education and in the practical execution of their responsibilities.
PM discussed the Council of Ministers' decision to ensure land allocation for the Police Academy, a strategic move enabling the Ministry of Interior to expand its facilities and enhance its infrastructure and performance standards. This upgrade supports the academy's capability to host students from Arab nations, promoting international cooperation, knowledge exchange, and the development of professional relationships across borders.
Speaking about the tasks and duties, the Prime Minister stressed “the importance of loyalty in security work to the homeland and to all Iraqis without discrimination, with respect for all tribal, national and religious titles,” noting “preventing any exception in the involvement of students within this important security corps and that justice and integrity must be present, whether in lessons or in their application as concepts at work.”
He referred to “the Council of Ministers’ decision to confirm the ownership of the land to the Police College, in order to enable the Ministry of Interior to expand facilities and infrastructure, as part of its keenness to improve performance, as the College will be able to host students from Arab countries in a step to reciprocate, open up to brothers and gain experience and built relationships with others.”
