Hanoun announces the launch of the research competition "participate in the Battle against corruption"

The head of Commission of integrity (COI), Haider Hanoun, announced, on Sunday ,the launch of a research competition entitled participate in the battle against corruption.
 
Hanoun said in a speech during the announcement of the annual report for 2023, attended by the correspondent of the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "the commission is holding this conference to announce its annual report in the field of Investigation and submission to the issue and graft during 2023" ,pointing out that "the commission has developed the national project mixed with the legitimate mandate announced by the deputy of the Supreme reference in the victory speech”.

He pointed out that "the commission found it necessary to involve the citizen in the fight against corruption plan through the launch of a research competition entitled (participate in the battle against corruption), to be the first topic of research in the national project mixed with the legitimate mandate and determine the mechanisms of implementation and the role of the citizen and all other parties to participate in the battle against corruption through applied operational research to develop a complete plan for the battle against corruption".

He added that" the integrity commission, with the support of the judiciary, the Parliamentary Integrity Committee and the Board Of Supreme Audit, has made great efforts in the fight against corruption and achieved unprecedented achievements and successes, but it was not able to enter the Battle of corruption on its own ",noting that "the Supreme Judicial Council supported the integrity commission in the fight against corruption and the recovery of money and fugitives”.

Hanoun stressed that "there are many reasons hindering the processes of fighting corruption and eliminating it completely, most notably the lack of adoption of a realistic integrated project capable of diagnosing the head of corruption and corrupters and returning the money they stole, the lack of a real battle against the corrupt, as well as the existence of ignorance about the national project to fight corruption”.
