President Rashid receives an invitation to participate in the seventh summit of heads and government of GECF

    The President of the Republic, Abdullatif Jamal Rashid received a written message from Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, which included an invitation to participate in the seventh summit of heads of government of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF).
     
     “The President of the Republic, Abdel Latif Jamal Rashid, received at Baghdad Palace the Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and the Algerian Minister of Energy and Mines Mohamed Arkab, who delivered to him a written message from the Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune included his invitation to participate in the seventh summit of heads of government of GECF,” A statement issued by the media department of the Presidency of the Republic, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated.
     
    "Minister Mohamed Arkab conveyed the greetings and appreciation of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to President Abdullatif jamal Rashid, who welcomed the minister, conveying his greetings to President Tebboune, and expressing his appreciation and gratitude for the invitation,” The statement added.
     
     
    "The importance of strengthening the relations that bring the two countries together and developing ways of joint cooperation, especially in the field of natural gas, and the necessity of coordination and consultation on issues of concern to the Iraqi and Algerian peoples in a way that achieves common interests and contributes to enhancing security and stability in the region,” The President of the Republic stressed.
     
     “The Palestinian issue and the position of Iraq and Algeria supporting the rights of the Palestinian people, and demanding an end to the aggression and crimes committed against the Palestinians,” The statement pointed out.
     
    It pointed to "the necessity of coordination in the field of discovering and extracting natural gas, which has become important after calls to dispense with oil," stressing "the importance of establishing cooperation between gas-exporting countries in order to control and regulate production quantities."
     
    In turn, the Algerian minister affirmed that "his country stands by Iraq in facing the challenges and its efforts to establish security and stability,” Praising "Iraq's positions aimed at stabilizing global oil markets through its role within OPEC."
