The Federal Police Command announced today, Friday, the arrest of 17 defendants in various legal cases in Baghdad and Babylon.
The leadership stated in a statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “The security operations carried out by the Federal Police Forces as part of their tireless efforts to pursue those wanted by the judiciary to obtain their just punishment, resulted in our units, with the support of the intelligence effort, being able to arrest 17 defendants with legal provisions that varied between, (Theft, possession of unlicensed weapons, premeditated assault, threats, quarrels, forgery, construction and building on agricultural lands) in the areas of (Al-Shu’la, Al-Bayaa, Al-Dora, Arab Jabour, the Fifth Shorttah, and Al-Hurriya) in Baghdad, and the (Jableh and Alexandria) area in Babil Governorate.”
According to the statement, "The defendants were referred with the seized items to the competent authorities to complete the necessary investigative and legal procedures against them."
