Ministry of Oil seek to invest 300 mqm of gas from Halfaya Field

    The Ministry of Oil announced the completion date of associated gas investment projects in Halfaya field, on Wednesday.
     
    "The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil for Gas Affairs Izzat Saber conducted an inspection visit to the Maysan Oil Company to follow up on gas investment projects in the province," the ministry stated in a statement obtained by the Iraqi News Agency (INA). It further stated that "the Undersecretary of the Ministry chaired a meeting of officials in the Maysan Oil Company and the Chinese company."

     
    In addition, it stated that "the general manager of the company gave a briefing on plans to sustain and increase production from oil fields, and develop infrastructure," as part of the undersecretary's tour. The meeting with officials and workers at work sites was part of the tour. 
     
     In order to follow up on the associated gas investment projects in Halfaya field, which is hoped to be celebrated by the end of the first quarter of this year, the Undersecretary stated during his inspection tour that "this visit comes under the guidance of the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil." He also noted that "Halfaya gas represents an important addition to the national production of gas at a rate of "300" mqm."

    "It represents an important and qualitative addition to the national production of the invested gas, by stopping it from being burned and converting it into useful energy," he emphasized, referring to the accomplishment made by the Maysan Oil Company by investing gas associated with oil operations from Halfaya field in Maysan Governorate.  
     
    He urged "to exert maximum efforts in order to accelerate the achievement of the goals of the government program and the ministry," praising "the efforts of the Maysan Oil Company employees and the supporting bodies in achieving this performance."

    "The project consists of two energy units at a rate of (150) mqm for each unit, in addition to the production of liquid gas at a rate of (2300) tons per day, and good quantities of condensate and sulfur," stated Hussein Kadhem Luaibi, general manager of Maysan Oil Company.
