Advisor to the Prime Minister, Diaa Al-Nasseri, confirmed that foreign policy and diplomatic representation are exclusively the responsibility of the federal government.

According to article 110 of the Iraqi Constitution, foreign policy and diplomatic representation belong exclusively to the Federal Government, and regions are not entitled to encroach that,” Al-Nasseri said in a post on X platform, formerly Twitter.

“Therefore, I call on the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government to cooperate for resolving the living and service issues for the people of the region and to leave the issue of diplomatic representation to the federal government,” he added.
