Transport Ministry announces the completion of Berth No. 2 in Grand Faw Port

    The Ministry of Transport announced the completion of Berth No. (2) in Al-Faw Grand Port.
     
    “According to the directives of the Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhaibas Al-Saadawi, in the first hours of the new year, the completion of Berth No. 2 was announced,” The ministry’s media office stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), “the percentage of work completion exceeded (85%) in the five berth project, which is a higher percentage than what was planned in the project.”
     
    The statement added, "Work in the Grand Faw Port is taking place according to contracts and the time limit, and the project map in the Grand Faw Port, whether the five berths or the rest of the projects, is progressing at a high and increasing pace, without any delay, and at advanced rates compared to what was planned."
     
     “The project to establish the container port for the Grand Al-Faw Port, which is one of the five projects, includes the construction of five berths for unloading ships with a length of (1,750) meters, and the establishment of a Container Yard (CY) with a length of (2,000) meters and a width of (600) with an initial capacity of up to two million containers annually,” It pointed out.
