While the Director General of the Central Oil Company, Muhammad Yassin Hassan, confirmed during the celebration, “the completion of drilling operations for the longest horizontal section of an oil well in Iraq in cooperation with the Kocel Company,” pointing out that “the importance of this achievement lies in that the long section will compensate for the drilling of three regular horizontal wells.” “It significantly reduces costs, in addition to achieving production rates that reach three times the production of normal horizontal wells and five times the production of vertical wells, and contributes to overcoming the problem of the spread of population centers in the oil field, which may hinder drilling operations.
