Media Office of the Prime Minister stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency INA that the work of the Conference "Reforming Tax System in Iraq" started Wednesday, with the attendance of the Prime Minister, the main themes of the Conference will include tax policies, legislation, governance and automation, management and tax accounting.
The Conference aims to amend tax legislation that does not compile with business environment, develop tax administration and the skills of its employees to raise the level of tax performance, fix the imbalance in the tax work environment in a way that serves the economic development process, achieve tax justice and reduce the tax burden on taxpayers, facilitate tax procedures and adopt tax governance, review tax and customs policies in Iraq under a market economy, strengthen Iraq's position in international tax classifications, and spread tax culture among taxpayers by reflecting tax revenues by providing good services and creating investments that contribute to providing for sustainable income.
During the Conference, 12 winning researches will be discussed in various fields out of 40 submitted by governmental, academic, private sector companies and international organizations.
