The Civil Aviation Authority signed on Monday, an air transport services agreement with its Azerbaijani counterpart.
“Under the auspices of the President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, and the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority signed an air transport services agreement between the two countries with the Azerbaijani side," said the Aviation Authority in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
The statement included, “the signing of this agreement is for the first time in the history of relations between the two countries,” noting that “the agreement came on the sidelines of the President of the Republic’s visit to the State of Azerbaijan with the aim of strengthening relations and raising their level in a way that achieves common interests in the civil aviation sector and through the signing of memorandums of understanding and agreements in multiple fields, thus achieving great opportunities for cooperation and joint coordination.”
