The player Najla Imad won today, Thursday, the silver medal in the Slovenia International Paralympic Table Tennis Championship.
Vice President of the Paralympic Table Tennis Federation, Louay Al-Saray, said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The champion, Najla Imad, won the silver medal in the Slovenian International Championship, which is considered one of the strongest tournaments in the world, with the participation of more than 45 countries.”
He added, "Imad defeated the Swedish player, ranked 13th in the world, the Romanian player, ranked 6th in the world, and the German champion, winner of a number of Olympic medals and ranked 2nd in the world."
He explained, “The champion topped her group to snatch the bey card and played the semi-final with the Romanian champion, ranked 7th in the world. In the final match, she met the Ukrainian world champion, ranked first in the world, and despite the heroine’s sudden health condition, Nagla, she lost with difficulty, 3/1.”
