Azerbaijani Ambassador announces facilitating granting visas to Iraqis

    Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan Nasir Mammadov, announced on Sunday the facilitation of granting visas to Iraqis.
     
    Mammadov said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "The mechanism for granting visas to Iraqi citizens wishing to visit the Republic of Azerbaijan has been launched through simplified procedures and through the embassy headquarters in the capital, Baghdad," noting that "Azerbaijan and Iraq have a long and glorious history and intend to develop bilateral relations with great prospects on the basis of friendship, mutual respect and friendly partnership."
     
     
    Mammadov added that "After the issuance of the presidential decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan appointing me as an Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary ambassador, we began to grant the visa to Iraqi citizens wishing to visit the Republic of Azerbaijan starting from the middle of last week through a mechanism and facilities shortened by the embassy in a simplified and transparent manner in accordance with laws and regulations," noting that "the amount of state fees for obtaining visas is only $ 20."
     
    He added that "the competent government body in Azerbaijan, allowed Iraqi Airways to operate direct flights to Azerbaijan, and according to the data, it is expected that direct flights will be operated from Baghdad and Kirkuk airports in the coming days, and in the next stage direct flights will be allocated from Basra and Erbil, in addition to that, we are currently working with the official authorities to implement direct flights for Azerbaijan Airlines to various cities of Iraq."
     
    He also explained that "our work is continuing to carry out the necessary work in order to increase, normalize, activate and develop the diplomatic and economic fields," expressing his hope that "relations between the two countries will deepen and work together to solve the global challenges facing humanity."
