Today, Wednesday, the Ministry of Education announced that Iraq has won membership in the Executive Council of UNESCO.
The ministry said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Iraq officially occupied the throne of membership in the Executive Council of UNESCO after its win in the decisive elections during the activities of the International Conference of UNESCO at its forty-second session in Paris."
"This came after 38 years of waiting." According to the statement.
