Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced on Thursday, that 13 Iraqi universities have obtained competitive positions in the international Times ranking
A statement from the ministry received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) said that "13 Iraqi universities have won competitive positions in the Times world ranking of subjects 2024".
The statement explained that " the results of the classification showed (https://www.timeshighereducation.com/world-university-rankings/by-subject) the Universities of Baghdad, Babylon, Kufa, Mosul and al-Mustansiriya have obtained important centers in the specialty of Medicine and Health Sciences (Clinical and Health), while the Universities of Anbar, Mosul, Baghdad, Basra, Kufa and al-Mustansiriya have registered positive centers in the specialty of Life Sciences (Life Science)".
The statement added that " engineering specialization has achieved important positions in the Universities of Al-Nahrain, Qadisiya, Anbar, Babylon, Diyala, technological, Baghdad, Basra, Karbala, Central Technical University, Mosul and al-Mustansiriya".
The statement continued, " the Universities of Qadisiya, Babil, technological, Nahrain, Diyala, Anbar, Baghdad, Basra, Karbala, Kufa, Mosul and al-Mustansiriya won their competitive positions in the specialty of physical science, while the Universities of Nahrain, Anbar, Babylon, Baghdad, Kufa, Central Technical University, Mosul, technological, Basra and al-Mustansiriya received indicative positions in the specialty of Computer Science”.
It is worth noting that “Iraq has achieved the 37th place globally in the Times ranking of universities for the year 2024 by registering Iraqi universities competing and their presence in the ranking in which 2024 universities from 108 countries around the world compete according to evaluation indicators in the fields of teaching, research environment, research quality, international outlook and industry income”.
