The Border Ports Authority announced Today, Tuesday,the seizure of two vehicles, in coordination with Interpol police, in the port of Umm Qasr.
A statement by the Authority, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said: “The Border Ports Authority, through coordinating work and exchanging information with the Interpol Police Office at the Umm Qasr Middle Port, was able to seize two Toyota Hilux wheels stolen from the country (Sweden).
The statement added, "The seizure operation was carried out by a joint duty of the competent authorities after obtaining the approval of the investigating judge of the Umm Qasr court."
It pointed out that "a committee was formed in cooperation with the operating departments, organized a proper arrest report and referred it to the Umm Qasr Customs Police Station to take appropriate legal measures."
