Head of FCOI: Granting investments to reputable companies contributes in preventing corruption

    The head of the Federal Commission of Integrity FCOI, Haider Hanoun, confirmed today, Thursday, that granting investments to reputable companies will contribute in preventing corruption.
     
    The head of FCOI said in his speech during the economic forum held by the Commission in cooperation with the Iraqi embassy in Cairo and in the presence of the Iraqi ambassador and a number of Iraqi and Egyptian businessmen and investors, followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The interaction of the Federal Integrity Commission with the government program achieved unprecedented progress in Combating corruption,” indicating that “one of the priorities of the government program is combating corruption and poverty, and combating poverty goes through activating investment and the private sector and providing safe climates for them to enter the labor market.”

    He added, "Iraq is on the verge of promising investment opportunities, and reputable Egyptian companies must compete for them, especially after the Prime Minister's announcement of the development road project," noting that "granting investments to reputable companies contributes to preventing corruption."
     
    He urged "owners of investment companies to take the initiative to notify the Authority of cases of blackmail that they may be exposed to, which will contribute to cutting off corruption and protecting the economy," pointing out that "this ensures the employment of Iraqi workers while guaranteeing their rights in terms of security and retirement in accordance with the law."

    He stated that "ensuring the rights of the Iraqi worker to social security and retirement is the most important reason for the success of investment and the fight against corruption."
     
    For his part, Iraqi Ambassador Ahmed Nayef stressed that “the historical relationship between Iraq and Egypt,” noting that “the leaders of the two countries embodied this through concluding agreements, memorandums of understanding, and mutual visits at all levels.”
     
    He stressed that "the war of all types of Iraqi security forces against ISIS gangs was a war on behalf of the world and sister countries."
     
    The Iraqi ambassador called for "investing the financial abundance and cash and gold reserves that attract investment, and benefiting from the investment companies of the Republic of Egypt."
