Health Minister Saleh al-Hasnawi confirmed on Thursday that the Cabinet issued several decisions to facilitate the localization of pharmaceutical industries, while calling on Arab and foreign companies to localize pharmaceutical industries.

Al-Hasnawi said in a speech during the annual international exhibition of the Ministry of Health (HEALTH EXPO IRAQ), with the participation of (150) Iraqi, Arab and international companies for the production of medicines, medical supplies and modern medical devices, which was held at the Baghdad International Fair, and was attended by the reporter of the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "work in the Ministry of Health is a partnership, and the main part of it is companies concerned with the pharmaceutical sector, medical devices and supplies," noting that "this sector represents the cornerstone of health services provided to our citizens through the General Company for Medicines and the Iraqi and foreign private sector involved with it."

He added, "We look forward to a real partnership based on mutual trust between the safety of the pharmaceutical product, the safety of the drug, the safety of the medical requirement, and the confidence that companies must have in their financial dealings with the General Company for Medicines and the Ministry of Health," noting that "one of the most important projects that we seek in the government is the localization of pharmaceutical industries."

He stressed that "the localization of pharmaceutical industries represents one of the most important programs that the government sought to promote, as the Cabinet issued decisions aimed at localizing pharmaceutical industries," pointing out that "the Ministry of Health has facilitated many steps related to facilitating pharmaceutical industries."

Al-Hasnawi called on "all Arab and foreign companies to help localize the pharmaceutical industry, medical supplies and devices in Iraq," explaining that "the Ministry of Health has an ambitious program that needs time to achieve, and we have started with the real steps to implement it."
