Interior Ministry announces seizing 15 tons of psychotropic substances in Baghdad

The General Directorate of narcotic drugs and Psychotropic Substances affairs of the Ministry of Interior announced on Thursday the seizure of 15 tons of psychotropic substances in Baghdad.

A statement of the Directorate received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "through field follow-up and intensification of control efforts, the General Directorate of drug control at the Ministry of Interior, in cooperation with a team from the Pharmacists Syndicate at the Ministry of Health, seized 15 tons of psychotropic substances, which illegally entered the capital within the Qadisiyah area in Baghdad.

The statement added that "the counter-terrorism detachments were able to arrest the defendants who seized these materials in their possession, until the completion of the necessary legal procedures against them".
