The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today, Monday, Iraq's condemnation of the terrorist attack that targeted pilgrims to the Shah Charag shrine in the Iranian city of Shiraz.
The ministry stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "Iraq expresses its strong condemnation and denunciation of the terrorist attack on the visitors of the Shah Charag shrine in the city of Shiraz, which claimed the lives of a number of civilians and injured others."
The ministry added, "Iraq confirms its position rejecting terrorism in all its forms, and its standing with the international community in confronting terrorism, and supporting all good efforts aimed at eliminating extremism and violence."
"We share the pain of grief of the government and the people of the Islamic Republic of Iran in these times, and we offer our sincere heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathy," concluding by saying: "Mercy to the martyrs, and speedy recovery to the wounded."
