Al-Maliki receives the Ambassador of Egypt to Iraq

    The head of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, called on Thursday, on Egyptian companies to invest in Iraq.

    A statement by Al-Maliki's office, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said, "The head of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, received in his office the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Iraq, Walid Muhammad Ismail."

    The statement added, "During the meeting, they discussed strengthening bilateral relations and ways to develop means of cooperation between the two brotherly countries, and pushing them to broader horizons in various fields,they also discussed the political and security developments taking place in the country, in addition to developments at the regional and international levels."

    Al-Maliki affirmed, "The Iraqi-Egyptian relations are witnessing a positive development at various levels," calling for "the entry of Egyptian companies into Iraq, especially since the country is witnessing a state of stability and there is a trend towards reconstruction and construction."

    It pointed to "the importance of increasing coordination mechanisms within the political, economic, commercial, industrial, security and other fields, with the aim of continuing to establish the factors of prosperity and the elements of regional development, and upgrading joint efforts in order to achieve strategic integration between the two brotherly countries."


    In turn, the Egyptian ambassador affirmed, "Egypt's keenness to consolidate relations between the two countries in all fields, to serve common interests and build partnerships to promote sustainable development, in various sectors of industry, economy and investment."
