Al-Maliki receives the Ambassador of France to Iraq

    The head of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, called on Wednesday, for the participation of major French companies in the reconstruction process in Iraq.

    Al-Maliki's media office said, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the head of the State of Law Coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, received in his office today Wednesday, the Ambassador of France to Iraq, Éric Chevalier," noting that "during the meeting, they discussed the future of bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, as well as Discuss the regional and international situation."

    Al-Maliki pointed to "the importance of strengthening relations between Baghdad and Paris in various fields, especially economic, investment and trade issues in accordance with the latest international systems," stressing "his support for the first and second Baghdad conference and all conferences supporting Iraq, provided that its sovereignty is not compromised."


    The head of the State of Law coalition called for "the entry of major French companies into Iraq to contribute to the process of rebuilding and developing services," noting that "French companies have experience and competence in the field of energy, transportation and reconstruction."


    For his part, Ambassador Chevalier praised "the role of Nuri al-Maliki and his support in stabilizing the political process in Iraq and strengthening Iraqi-French relations," expressing "his appreciation for Iraq and his leadership's keenness to strengthen relations with France and increase the volume of cooperation in various fields."
