President Rashid receives Kuwait's Foreign Minister and his accompanying delegation

    The President of the Republic of Iraq, Abdullatif Jamal Rashid met on Sunday, with the Kuwaiti Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah alongside his delegation, at the Baghdad Palace.
     
    The Iraqi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, attended the meeting.
     
    “As the meeting commenced, the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister delivered greetings from Kuwait's ruler, Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad al-Sabah for the Iraqi President,” stated The Presidency of the Republic, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
     
    President Rashid asked the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Salem Jaber Al-Sabah, to convey his greetings to Kuwait's emir while extending a message of progress and prosperity to the Kuwaiti people.
     
    The statement added, “The President said that it is critical to consolidate fraternal relations between the two countries. To achieve common interests and to promote investment and trade opportunities, it is essential to promote understanding and constructive cooperation.”
     
    There is an urgent need to continue coordination and joint action in order to reach a satisfactory understanding of the thorny issues in order to find feasible solutions and to advance the cause of progress and well-being, president Rashid noted. He also said, “We are interested in the success of all efforts aimed at stabilizing the security and stability necessary for the continuation of work and construction."
     
    Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Sabah, Kuwaiti Foreign Minister, expressed pleasure at the progress made in Iraq and confidence in Iraq's security, stability, and prosperity.
     
    In addition, the Kuwaiti Minister noted that talks with the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs were fruitful, and the relationship between the two countries is solid and strong.
     
    Furthermore, this relationship is expected to improve further, he added. It is his hope that these relations will be strengthened in various areas in the future, he said while drawing attention to the historical ties that bind the two countries.
