More than 4,000 jobs are created by the factories that have opened in Babil, according to Prime Minister Mohamed Shia al-Sudani, who also mentioned that the surplus sugar produced, will be exported to nearby nations.

During the opening of the expansion project of the sugar production plant, vegetable oil extraction plants, vegetable feed production and premix factory, and the launch of the Etihad Company project to produce zero flour in Babil, the Prime Minister made the following statement, which was reported by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "We started today a visit to the province of Babil, and we laid the foundation stone during the visit of the factories of the Union Company, for the commercial mill project of one million tons annually."

He added, "This project is one of the important projects that provide yellow flour for the local markets," noting that "there is an import of this material up to more than 90 percent, which leads to the depletion of the currency and the exit of this currency cash, as well as the loss of investment opportunities for these projects to generate job opportunities that we desperately need."

He pointed out that "the expansion project of the sugar production was opened to increase production from 4,000 to 6,000 tons," stressing that "this production will qualify the company to export the surplus to neighboring countries."

He pointed out that "there are projects related to the production of fodder, and in this tour we can say with confidence that we are in front of one of the success stories of the Iraqi private sector, which has proven efficiency, ability and possibility in implementing important projects that secure the needs of the local market, and establish a national industry based on the latest technology, and also provide job opportunities in these factories more than 4,000 workers working in these factories."

The Prime Minister called on all Iraqi businessmen and the private sector to "invest in the opportunities provided by the government in the issue of providing unlimited support to the private sector, whether in terms of investment opportunities or in terms of giving sovereign guarantees to international financial institutions, and this is what was approved in the budget law for the three years," pointing out that "it was signed with Japan, to add $ 200 million at reduced interest rates, which will be directed to small and medium enterprises."

He stressed by saying: "With this methodology, the government is working to direct real support to the private sector, which we believe is a partner for the government sector in securing what the local market needs, as well as providing services to citizens, as well as providing job opportunities," explaining that "through the competent ministerial councils, cabinet sessions and committees concerned with reconstruction and government investment, there is seriousness in giving approvals for opportunities and completed projects, as well as moving forward with real reforms that provide an attractive work environment for the private sector."

The Prime Minister stressed that "the federal government and the local government will be in a position of support for these projects."
