Al-Sudani Meets GE Power Delegation

     Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani, received this morning the CEO of GE Power, Eric Gray, and his accompanying delegation in the presence of the Iraqi Minister of Electricity.

    The media office of the Prime Minister said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA)," The Prime Minister emphasized that the electricity sector is a top government priority, covering energy transmission, distribution, and production."

     He called upon GE Power to collaborate with the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity to meet the sector's needs.

    During the meeting, Al-sudani directed to expedite the completion of the company's combined cycle projects. 

    The aim is to boost energy production without increasing the need for additional fuel. Discussions also revolved around the gas investment sector. 

    Al-Sudani reaffirmed the government's commitment to eliminate the burning of associated gas and instead leverage it for energy production projects and other trans formative industries. The GE Power delegation, on their part, presented the projects they are currently executing in Iraq, particularly in the domain of energy production. 

    The company's CEO emphasized their unwavering commitment to fulfill maintenance contracts signed with the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity. 
    These contracts aim to enhance the electricity system and facilitate its overall development. 

    The GE Power delegation comprised key executives:. Yoshito Murakami, Chief Financial Officer; Joe Anis, CEO of Europe, Middle East & Africa; Charles Masurel, CFO for EMEA; and Rasheed Al Janabi, Head of Iraq's branch.
