FIC confirms working to conclude a memorandum of understanding with the Kuwaiti Anti-Corruption Authority

    The Federal Integrity Commission announced today, Thursday, that it is working to conclude a memorandum of understanding with the Kuwaiti Anti-Corruption Public Authority.

    The Commission said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “The Chairman of the Federal Integrity Commission, Haider Hanoun, met today with the Kuwaiti Ambassador Tariq Abdullah Al-Faraj,” indicating, “During the meeting, which was held at the Commission’s headquarters, common issues between the two parties were discussed, not Especially cooperation and exchange of experiences in the field of combating and preventing corruption, and noting that common interests require cooperation between counterpart institutions in Arab countries, including integrity and anti-corruption bodies.”

    The two sides stressed according to the statement “the importance of concerted efforts of all countries to confront the scourge of corruption that is devastating institutions and causing the waste of hundreds of billions of dollars annually around the world,” expressing their hope “to conclude a memorandum of understanding between Iraqi Integrity and the Kuwaiti Anti-Corruption Public Authority.” 

    Especially since Iraq and Kuwait are among the countries that have joined the Arab and International Anti-Corruption Conventions, which urge the law enforcement authorities concerned with combating corruption to conclude bilateral cooperation agreements in order to strengthen the measures to prevent and combat corruption.

    The head of the Federal Integrity Commission and the Kuwaiti ambassador stressed “the depth of the relationship between the two brotherly countries, and the necessity of strengthening and expanding it to include various fields, including the field of combating corruption.”
