Prime Minister. Mohammed S. Al-Sudani, received on Tuesday morning, the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Iraq, Mr. Ali Riza Güney.
“During the meeting, they discussed enhancing cooperation between Iraq and Türkiye and explored various ways to develop and strengthen bilateral relations to serve the interests of both friendly nations”, stated the Media Office of the Prime Minister in a statement, received by The Iraqi News Agency-INA.
“During the meeting, they also discussed the upcoming visit of Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, to Iraq and talked about establishing a joint economic forum in Basra and Türkiye's participation in the Development Road project with neighboring countries. The talks covered the shared water file and plans for establishing a joint center at the Iraqi-Turkish border,” the statement added.
“Prime Minister Al-Sudani expressed his support for enhancing economic and trade ties between the two countries. He emphasized the importance of developing a robust partnership, fostering economic interdependence, and encouraging investments. He also stressed the need to activate joint committees to ensure the effective implementation of memorandums of understanding and bilateral agreements between the two neighboring countries”, the statement continued.
