The British Foreign Office confirmed today, Friday, that the burning and desecration the Holy Quran in Sweden is a deep insult to Muslims.
A statement by the ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), said: "The burning and desecration of the Holy Qur'an in Stockholm is a profound insult to Muslims around the world, which is completely inappropriate.".
The statement added, "We condemn hatred on the basis of religion or belief, and we will defend freedom of religion or belief for all, and contribute to promoting mutual respect.".
And the statement continued, "We are aware of the deep suffering that Muslims all over the world suffer from due to the burning of the Quran."
